This beautifully detailed mask brings together animal and human references in one design. The mask was used by the Poro Society, a male organisation educating young men in the traditions and responsibilities that come with their coming of age. Masks are traditionally positive symbols of good luck, good fortune, fertility and long life.

 

Mounted on an optional aged timber block with a metal frame
